Workshop services

We overhaul, repair and balance rotating equipment in our own workshop

Machines are dismantled, inspected, repaired and tested at our Jubail facility. Scope ranges from a routine overhaul on a pump or steam turbine to specialist component repair, complete rotor rebuilds and manufacture of replacement parts. Machining, balancing, inspection and testing are performed in-house, which keeps the work under one quality system and allows delivery dates to be committed at quotation.

Scope of work

Stages of an overhaul

Dismantling and inspection
The machine is stripped and cleaned, then inspected: runouts and clearances recorded, internal passages borescoped, materials and hardness confirmed, and welds and highly stressed areas examined by ultrasonic, magnetic particle and dye penetrant testing. The inspection report is issued to you before any repair is agreed.
Repair and replacement of components
Worn and damaged parts are restored or remanufactured: rotor straightening, blade repair and replacement, diaphragm and nozzle weld repair, casing crack repair, bearing rebabbitting and seal remanufacture. Components beyond repair are manufactured in our own workshop.
Reassembly, balancing and testing
Rotating assemblies are dynamically balanced to ISO 1940 and certified. The machine is rebuilt to the recorded clearances, laser aligned, and performance tested before release.

The workshop

Stripped, machined, balanced and tested at Jubail

A machine goes through strip-down, remachining, rebabbitting, balancing and test run without leaving the site. Nothing is crated to another country and back, which is where the weeks come out of an outage.

Inspection records and reporting

Each overhaul is documented from strip-down to release: the inspection and condition report, dimensional and runout records, NDT results, balancing certificates where applicable, and a handover report listing the work completed and the parts replaced.
