Reverse engineering
We manufacture replacement components using 3D scanning
When a replacement part is no longer available, we capture the existing component using 3D laser scanning and recreate its geometry as an engineering model. The material is verified, the component is manufactured to the required specification, and the finished part is inspected before delivery.

Lead time and cost
Replacement parts engineered in Jubail rather than imported
Obsolete components are often quoted with lead times of several months, and for older plant they are sometimes unavailable at any price. Scanning and cutting the part in Jubail removes shipping, customs and overseas order time from the delivery date, and puts the drawings and the machining for that component into the Saudi supply chain Vision 2030 sets out to build. Parts are typically supplied at 30 to 50 per cent below original manufacturer pricing.

Scope
What the service includes
- 3D laser scanning
- Component geometry is captured digitally, including complex profiles such as aerofoils, impeller passages and gear teeth. Scanning is carried out in our workshop or at your site, and covers components that cannot be fully dismantled.
- Engineering and CAD modelling
- Scan data is converted into a fully editable 3D model and released with manufacturing drawings, tolerances and assembly instructions. The model remains available for repeat orders.
- Material verification
- Positive material identification and hardness testing confirm the original specification. An upgraded material is proposed where operating conditions justify it.
- Manufacturing
- 5-axis milling, turning, grinding and gear cutting to the engineered model, manufactured to AGMA, API and ISO requirements.
- Dimensional verification
- Finished components are measured against the model and released with a dimensional inspection report.

Verification and traceability
Every reverse engineered component is measured against the engineering model built from the scan data and released with a dimensional inspection report, material certificate, NDT results where applicable and a balancing certificate for rotating parts. Send us the component or the equipment details, and we will reply with scope, lead time and price.
